Cauvery Block (CY-ONN-2002/1)

The Cauvery Block is located onshore in the Cauvery Basin, south of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. The present block area net of relinquishment is 505 km² and is located close to other significant discoveries.

Jubilant is the operator with a 30%. Participating Interest, with GAIL (50%) and GSPC (20%) also holding Participating Interests. Two of the three original wells that were drilled by Jubilant in the Cauvery Block by October 2008 were recently re-tested to evaluate their production capability. On testing, the results were poor and therefore Jubilant has decided to relinquish the block. The relinquishment proposal has been forwarded to partners for their consideration.
